Naiiiad is a painting based on a poem I wrote about falling in love with a water spirit, and how the feeling of falling in love both feels like drowning and breathing at the same time. The shyness of a fish with its cautious approach towards touch but ready to escape if grabbed resembling the feeling and fear of attachment. The delicate balance of swimming versus sinking when it comes to emotions and learning to float through all the waves and ripples.
