This artwork depicts my DNA—not only in a literal sense, but through deeply personal and cultural symbolism. The inclusion of pieces of my mother’s shawl, adorned with traditional Indian paisley motifs (known as kalka), connects generations and heritage. The woodblock impressions of doves evoke peace and spirituality, while also referencing elements of Indian life and craft. Together, these layers reflect my identity, ancestry, and the legacy carried through both blood and tradition.
Medium: Mixed Media. I made this artwork in the process of making handmade paper. It has inclusions of colored paper pulp, cotton, and silk cloth.
