This piece is inspired by Whang Od, a traditional tap(batok) artist, of the Kalinga tribe, in the Philippines. During an interview with her, she expressed her process of creating the unique designs, she would tap onto each person, that came to her. One such way...was aligned to my own process of creation. Feeling off the energies of the other and having the creative hands be guided, by those who came before us. Linking past to present. An acknowledgment of where we have been and the present form we currently are.
